Today is all about hugging saints and reconnecting with friends I met along the way.
Last night was a fun dinner with new friends and folks I knew. We found a place that served amazing paella served family style. Paella in Galicia is well… if you know, you know. Had some sangria and some cava. Had a blast.
This morning, for me, was about the Pilgrim’s mass. Visiting the cathedral, hugging the iconic statue of Saint James and viewing the silver casket reliquary (casket for his bones).
Marie got a picture of me hugging the statue of St. James which is priceless to me. Thanks, Marie!!!
At 9pm, there was a French choral group doing a free concert, so Lena and I enjoyed a few of their pieces before giving in to exhaustion, lol.

I was delighted to see Lena from Queensland, Australia again. I met her at my second Alburgue with the Canadian “boyz”. It’s a camino reunion. The boyz are staying at the same Albuquerque I’m in tonight called “the Last Stamp”.

Tomorrow I’ll meet Marie and Lena to uber to the train station for the trip to Madrid. Overnight there and then OK, confession time… I upgraded my ticket to first class for the trans-Atlantic trip. A splurge I feel like I earned for hiking 150 miles, lol.
Here are today’s pics.

Cheers! V-
