Great day, no complaints. Feet feel great. The climb was brutal. Some sketchy rocky climbs, but it was beautiful, forested or farmland. Some light rain, nothing to complain about. On the Camino, we move through in clumps, kind of like a lump thru a snake, so I am seeing so many of the same faces… it’s really nice.

They say today was the hardest of this Camino… Galicia is yet to come, so I have my doubts, but we can hope!

Amazingly beautiful Albergue. I’d write more, but I am fantastically exhausted. Here are the pics…

    I’m glad to see you are on dirt most of the time now. Much easier on the feet.
    Your pictures bring back the sights, sounds and smells of my own journey. If you happen across some fennel along the trail chewing it will give you a boost of energy.
    If I remember correctly the beautiful bridge was the site of the battle against Napoleon. Guess who won? Napoleon never tried again .

    The town’s name is derived from the Pedrón (Big Stone), a Roman altar stone that played a central role in the Jacobean legend.

    The Pedrón: This large stone is believed to be the mooring post where the boat carrying St. James’ body was tied when it arrived from Jerusalem. It is currently on permanent display under the high altar of the Parish Church of Santiago de Padrón.

      We get to Pedrón on the 10th, this Sunday. That’s only about a 12-mile day, so there should be some gas in the tank after the hike. I’ll try to find it. Thanks for the suggestion!!
