What a fantastic day!!! Great weather, my body is adjusting, food has been awesome (had tortilla for the first time), and our hotel is fantastic!!! “Tortilla” in Spain and Portugal is like a potato and onion quiche, not like the Mexican flatbread you might imagine. I LIVED on it during my first Camino (2016) and it was like seeing an old friend to have it again.
We walked in to our hotel to be greeted with homemade cookies, bags delivered to our room (did I mention Marie and I decided to share a 2-twin room?). We asked if they had a bar for a little after hike beer/vino, and they didn’t have that, so the owner dipped into his personal stash and gave us a bottle of rosé! If you haven’t tried rose with cinnamon snickerdoodles, ya might want to give it a try.

Todays hike was MUCH more rural. And it’s the perfect season for flowers.
Here are today’s pics…

Marie and I stopped at a beautiful chapel in Ponte de Lima and I felt moved to sing Amazing Grace… so I did. Stone chapels have amazing acoustics, so that was a Camino moment.
By the way, thank you all who are reading this and sending notes of encouragement – it is so nice. Obrigada! (Thank you).
Cheers, V-
